Hair Extension Prices

Hair extensions is a great way to add volume, texture and body to your natural hair. It is also a fantastic alternative to chemical colors and perms. You can get it that last to a short amount of time, such as 1 or 2 days or you can also get it that are a bit more long term. Longer lasting hair extensions can last for up to 6 months.

The prices can vary greatly depending on what type of extensions you decide to get. You can get synthetic hair which is much cheaper than human hair. Natural untreated human hair can be very expensive. Given a choice of human hair or synthetic hair most people would go with human hair. It tends to look better, because it gives a more natural look.

Bonding, also known as hot fusion is the traditional way of placing extension in the hair. This method is done in a salon. The stylist will use hot glue to attach the hair extension to your natural hair. The price for this method is around $300, but can vary depending on where you live and how many extensions you need in your hair.

Clip-On Extensions - These are a great alternative for those who are not fond of the bonding method. Clip-On extensions are temporary, but can help you to create a great look for a night out on the town or a special event, such as a wedding or graduation. The price for clip on extension kits can vary. You can find them for as little as 20 bucks and as much as $250.

Cold Fusion - This is new to the industry, but it is by far the best method on the market. Cold fusion extensions tend to last longer than bonding, or hot fusion. It also keeps your hair from being damaged and prevents burns on the scalp. This method looks most natural. If they are applied correctly by a stylist, even you will have a hard time distinguishing your own natural hair. Because of the quality seen in cold fusion extensions the price tends to be a bit higher. The cost starts at about $1500 and can go up to $3500.

Weave - A weave is done by braiding the natural hair into the extensions. This can be done several ways. It can be accomplished using cornrows, invisible braids or by creating tracks in the hair. It seems to be the preferred method for many customers. In general this method costs about $1500; however, it really depends on your stylist, your location and your preferences.

Some salons offer the above methods for a much cheaper price; however, you should be wary. Make sure that the stylist you choose is certified, and that you find out what type of hair she is using. Most of the prices above include the cost of natural human hair. The prices of these treatments using synthetic hair can be much less expensive
